For a supposedly Christian establishment they do a terrible job of pretending to care about their patients. Worse than the usual, even. Doctors don't give a rat's ass about you, will ignore prescriptions you can't live without, getting them to do anything useful is like pulling teeth. Office staff is so incompetent at communicating with each other that it's a miracle they get anything done. You get what you pay for, and for paying nothing you get bottom-of-the-barrel service.

My first visit, the nurse was violently coughing and said she had just gotten out of the hosp fighting a highly contagious bacterial pneumonia, that did not respond to multiple meds . She did not wear gloves. I literally was terrified, praying for days after that I didnt catch what she had. My labwork came back with a very high and very wrong cholesterol number and I was ordered to go on medication. I never had high cholesterol before. I had the labwork done a few days later at VCU and the number was 80 points lower. Needless to say, I never took the medication. I figured I would discuss this at my follow up. At my 3 month follow up, I was simply scheduled to have cholesterol checked so I had no ability to talk to anyone about the error..silver lining, a different nurse who wore gloves :)
As I walked thru the chairs to leave there was a man who looked ill and had vomited all over the floor incl. his shoes,. As I got to the door, he yelled to me in another language then ran to the receptionist then to me wiping his mouth, handing me some paper the receptionist handed to him to hand to me. After all this, the results for the follow up cholesterol check never appeared in my patient portal nor did anyone call me. I tried calling for a few weeks as well as emailed thru the portal. About two months later the nurse did email me back in the portal, apologizing, she couldnt explain why the results were still not in the portal, but she gave me the numbers and my cholesterol was normal. She simply told me to keep taking my meds :/ Not sure how to tell them there was an error in my first result. I never took the meds, and that my cholesterol was never abnormal. Sounds terrible right? Well, honestly, when I had "great" insurance, the care I recvd was only marginally better. In my opinion, these volunteers are doing their best in a broken system.Added May 23, 2017 by jim page - ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

This place is a joke. Filthy nasty and dirty only begin to describe this place. My first and only visit i observed feces (looked like a stool sample gone wrong) and blood covered materials in a regular trash bin (with no lid) in the room. Obviously infection control means nothing to Crossover, because a child could have easily accessed the contaminated trash and gotten sick. Ended up waiting over a month for a follow up and nearly died in the process. They claim to be a Christian program but office staff/nurses are RUDE, have no respect when they speak to patients and could care less if the you lived or dropped dead at the receptionist window. My experience at the Cowardin ave location was horrible and I would recommend the Fan Free Clinic over Crossover
