  I left this church years ago. Too controlling. I didn't speak much about it as that was mine and my husband's personal experience and thoughts, but then... My mother, who knew the Torres's for decades and loved them and the church, thinking they were near Saints, got VERY sick. It was brought to their attention. Mom passed away a few months later. Not a phone call. Not a card. Not a flower. Not a visit. Not a word. If mom had had money that supported them, you can BET they'd have made their presence known. That was THE final straw. The only positive I CAN say is their youth pastor IS wonderful and cares, honestly, about the youth!

  I have been searching for a multi-cultural non-denominational church like my church home in the Bronx (NYC) since I left in 1991.
  
  I have enjoyed worshipping and serving in a plethora of congregations...but at last this ministry feels like the home that my heart can grow "roots" in.
  
  I call it my "Goldilocks" church:
  
  Not too big;
  
  Not too small;
  
  It's just right!!!
  
  ...AND contrary to the message of other popular mega-ministries I've encountered, the love for the Word coupled along with the all-encompassing love for people, in general (and for me in particular) that I've experinced thus far at NLOI has rekindled a fire in me to be more focused on winning SOULS...rather than winning the Lottery!!! (Figuratively)
